As you read about me take a deep breath in and out and think of one thing that you are grateful for at this moment. I am grateful for the power that attention to the breath has to quiet the chatter of the mind. I am also grateful for all my teachers and for my son who is the greatest teacher of my life. If you come looking for me on any given day I will be milking goats, gardening, studying, tracking , homeschooling my son, hand crafting or bird watching. Some books that have bookmarks on my coffee table right now are Love Poems From God translated by David Ladinsky, The Silk Road A New History of the World by Peter Frankopan, The Bhagavad Gita A walk through for Westerners by Jack Hawley and Yoga Body by Judith Lasater.
I am a 20 year student of Yoga and have been teaching on and off for the last 17 years. I began studying and teaching in NYC where I was raised and lived until 12 years ago.I had the great fortune to study with Dharma Mittra, Jasmine Tarkeshi, Elena Brower, T.K.S.V Desekachar, Leslie Karminoff and many more. I came out to California to reconnect with the natural world and engage in a more earth based practice. Since moving hear my studies have included Anatomy, Ayurveda, Animal Tracking and Primitive Skills. These practices along with my Yoga practice continuously awaken me to the infallible connection to all things.
If you come to share the yoga practice with me you can expect an educated practice combining Asana, Pranayama, Mantra and Philosophy. There may be music playing and poetry read. I invite you to come and find your rhythm and let the water, fire, air and earth move with in the space in you.
