Catherine Minnihan


Catherine began practicing yoga at age 15. A spark was lit inside her, and over the past two decades that spark has been cultivated into a dedicated Vinyasa practice with deep roots in the Ashtanga yoga system. Catherine is excited to share her passion with others by teaching what she continues to learn. In 2013 she completed her first teaching certification, and persistently seeks knowledge through various workshops, teacher trainings and classes.

Her inspiration for daily practice is drawn from studying the philosophy of yoga, and from the experience and study of the human body, and its innate ability to move, transform, and heal on a physical, energetic and emotional level. She finds great strength and guidance in the powerful teachings of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Tim Miller, David Swenson, Diana Christenson, Dena Kinsberg, Shiva Rea, Jane Austin, B.k.S. Iyengar, her children Jaden and Lila, her dearest friends, family, and her fellow yogis.

Outside of her asana practice, most of her time is spent growing and learning as she guides and cares for her two children. She spends much of her time outdoors, and gathers energy from the elements. As an advocate for creativity, Catherine and her family stay busy incorporating arts, music, and cooking into daily life as much as possible. Music and art have always and will forever continue to impact her life in positive ways that further inspire her to go deeper into the practice of living yoga.
