For over 6 years Monique has been teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Pre-natal, Children’s and Restorative Yoga using both traditional and contemporary methods of yoga. She recently relocated back to California after spending 5 years living and teaching between Peru and India. While based in Mysore India- she studied Yoga, Sanskrit, Kirtan, and Ayurvedic medicine. Monique strongly believes that having a yoga practice enables all of us to recognize the intrinsic goodness of ourselves just as we are and reminds us that we are perfect no matter what physical limitations we may have (or think we have). Yoga has been a part of Monique’s life since 2001, guiding her on the path to greater Self-awareness, deeper devotion, truth and love. The wisdom and lessons from teachers including, Ashtanga Master Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S. Iyengar, Bharath Shetty, Pete Guinosso, Shiva Rea, and Rusty Wells, serve for her playful and light, yet challenging and introspective, creative style of teaching. Emphasis is placed on physical postures, breath control, mindfulness, and listening to the body. Monique’s classes invite all abilities, ages, and beings.
